RSK Welch Courthouse Modernization

Client: Colliers / Infrastructure Ontario

Two projects delivered in an operating courthouse:

• Electrical upgrade: replacement of the main switchboard, transformers and distribution panels, with temporary power phased in parallel so the building transitioned with minimal to no operational impact
• Security systems upgrade: new integrated video surveillance, access control and duress alarm systems, tested and commissioned to the design specification, plus a new upgraded UPS for the security system

The existing security system stayed live until the new one was ready. All work was completed after hours, with security escorts in place for restricted areas, which required extensive advance planning, access coordination and communication with the client. A coordination study and a feasibility study for commissioning were also completed.
