Niagara Detention Center Upgrades

Client: Colliers / Infrastructure Ontario

Five projects delivered inside an active, occupied maximum-security detention centre, with minimal to no operational impact on the facility:

• Electrical upgrade: replacement of the main switchboard, transformers and distribution panels, with temporary power phased in parallel to the existing system
• Renewal of AHU-1, including controls, ductwork modifications and air balancing
• Replacement of 7 humidification units
• Replacement of 11 exhaust fans, including controls and air balancing
• Replacement of 42 segregation doors by an approved SOLGEN contractor

The scope also included a new upgraded UPS for the security system, a coordination study, and a feasibility study for commissioning.
